This critical supported housing site was facing ongoing plant room failures, inefficient heating performance, and rising maintenance costs due to ageing infrastructure. With vulnerable residents relying on 24/7 hot water and heating, a reactive approach was no longer sustainable.
VHL Mechanical was appointed to deliver a complete mechanical upgrade — engineered for reliability, energy efficiency, and minimal disruption to daily operations.
Before installation began, our team visited the centre for a coffee morning with staff and residents to discuss the upcoming works. We also donated essential food items and school stationery for the children supported by the refuge — reinforcing our commitment to serving both the client and community.
The project required a full plant room strip-out and redesign. We implemented a high-efficiency mechanical system built to reduce energy consumption, improve resilience, and meet all compliance requirements.
The final system delivers precision heating performance, improved system balance, and optimised control — ensuring long-term efficiency and operational peace of mind.
