Am I Eligible for the Free Boiler Grant?

Posted on by Daniel, VHL

With increases in energy costs making national news, making savings on your energy costs is now of great importance, particularly for when the colder months draw closer. VHL is proud to be a part of the ECO (which stands for the Energy Company Obligation), helping to bring energy efficient boilers to those who need them the most.

Green Deal approved contractorThe scheme is run in conjunction with the Green Deal, and homes that are eligible for the scheme can benefit from excellent savings on their energy bills. This article will help you determine if you are eligible for the Energy Company Obligation scheme and inform you on the steps to take to ensure you get the most out of it.

Eligibility

You are eligible for the ECO scheme if you are a recipient of any of the following:

  • Child tax credit
  • State pension credit
  • Income support
  • Working tax credit
  • Income related employment & support allowance
  • Disability living allowance
  • Annual income of less than £15,860

Additional Benefits

The benefits of the ECO scheme don’t stop at receiving a new boiler. Those who are eligible can receive a number of energy-saving products, including programmable thermostats which can greatly improve the efficiency of your central heating.

Insulation products are also available, so if your home is in need of cavity wall insulation or solid wall insulation then the ECO scheme can be of great benefit to you.

Overall, the government estimates that in excess of £1.3 billion of energy efficiency and heating systems will be delivered and installed in homes across Britain.
